Loving Others

19 February 2011

‘If you love only those who love you, what reward is there for that?  Even corrupt tax collectors do that much.’

(Matthew 5 vs 46)

Love is not just a feeling, or an emotion. Love is an Action. We should show Gods love in everything that we do, when we are talking to our friends or family, or even just helping people out.  It is hard to love someone who has hurt you, or annoys you to the max!  But Matthew here talks about how we should love those who don’t show love to us back. We should be so filled with God's Love that you have more than enough to share with everyone, it should be over flowing, no matter who they are or what they've done to you. Jesus died not only for the people who loved him in return, but also for his enemies. Although it is hard, how much of a witness could we be to our friends if we did the same. We should show Gods love to everyone in all we do, through our words and actions, and if we stop focusing on ourselves and our own lives only then can we begin to show love to others.
