God's Love (1)
9 February 2011
Do you think it would be easy to willingly sacrifice yourself for someone you love? What about for someone who doesn’t know you? Probably not... you’d most likely asking why you should that. How hard do you think it was on God to give up His only Son?
John 3 v 16 says;
“For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.”
This one verse alone tells us so much about God’s Love;
It’s magnitude - He sacrificed His one and only son so that we might know God and be free from our sin.
It’s reach - He gave it to an entire world... Everyone on this planet can get to know God!
It’s impartiality - He gives it to everyone, no matter who they are or what they’ve done.
Maybe today you should sit back and think about it... God loves you no matter what and He watches over you wherever you go.
“You know when I sit down or stand up. You know my every thought when far away.
You chart the path ahead of me and tell me where to stop and rest. Every moment you know where I am.
You know what I am going to say even before I say it, LORD.
You both precede and follow me. You place your hand of blessing on my head.
Such knowledge is too wonderful for me, too great for me to know!
I can never escape from your spirit! I can never get away from your presence!
If I go up to heaven, you are there; if I go down to the place of the dead, you are there.
If I ride the wings of the morning, if I dwell by the farthest oceans,
even there your hand will guide me, and your strength will support me.
I could ask the darkness to hide me and the light around me to become night --
but even in darkness I cannot hide from you. To you the night shines as bright as day. Darkness and light are both alike to you.” (Psalm 139 v 2 - 12)
