A Way With Words?
14 June 2011
"Let everything you say be good and helpful, so that your words will be an encouragement to those who hear them" Ephesians 4 v 29
It can be all to easy to speak before you think. You may not think about it, but the words you say can have the power to hurt... whether you've meant it intentionally or not. It is better to let people know that you appreciate them than it is to put them down. Just because your friends have said something, doesn't mean that you have to say it to. 1 Peter 2v17 says 'Show respect for everyone. Love your Christian brothers and sisters' This doesn't just mean in the way we act towards others, but in the way we speak to them as well - They way we speak has an effect both on ourselves and the way that others see and react to us. When we express ourselves with appreciation and understanding, then we earn the right to be heard. Today... is a good day to think before you speak.
